hero's journey

Awakening the ancient pattern of initiation.

There is a pattern woven into the human experience—one that reveals itself across time, culture, and story.  It is the pattern of initiation.

Moments of awakening. Crossings into the unknown. Periods of uncertainty, growth, love, loss, and return.

This pattern lives within each of us, whether we recognize it or not.

The Hero’s Journey experience is an invitation to consciously step into this process—to engage the deeper rhythms of personal growth, meaning, and transformation through story, body, and shared human experience—both within the Tent and guidance it brings.

AN INTEGRATED EXPERIENCE

The Hero's Journey Tent experience is both live in community and asynchronous in the month that follows. It is not gender-specific. It taps the vital spark in all human beings.

This experience includes a full telling of the ancient fairytale, Iron John, in a six-part series that unfolds month-to month, and integrates asynchronous guidance into the making of one's own Jungian inspired "Red Book", complete with somatic guidance to enlist the whole body and mind.

This experience is designed to support the imaginal self by:

  • Deepening the exploration of one's  life through the lens of the Hero Story

  • Engaging personal growth as a natural, unfolding process rather than something to force

  • Developing  greater awareness of one's inner landscape—emotionally, relationally, and somatically

  • Strengthening one's capacity to move with change, expansion, and complexity

The Hero's Journey runs continuously twice a year allowing participants to engage the whole or circle  back and drop into the story at will.

The six-part journey ahead

Tent 1: The Golden Key & The First Wound

Something happens that changes you.

A boundary is crossed. A truth is revealed. What once felt stable begins to shift.

This opening experience explores the moment of awakening—when something in your life is no longer the same, and cannot be unseen.

Tent 2: Cast Out & Into the Forest

The old world falls away.

What once held you no longer does. You find yourself stepping into unfamiliar territory—without a clear map.

This experience explores the pull toward something new, the uncertainty of transition, and the first movements into a different way of being.

Tent 3: The Mark & The Leaving Again

You can no longer hide who you are.

Something about you becomes visible—whether you’re ready or not. And with that visibility comes another shift.

This experience explores identity, exposure, and the moment when you begin to move through the world differently.

Tent 4: Hidden Life & The Trials

Growth happens out of sight.

You find yourself in roles that don’t fully reflect who you are. You learn, adapt, and build strength in ways others may not see.

This experience explores humility, patience, and the quiet development that happens beneath the surface.

Tent 5: Battle, Recognition & The Wound

You step forward—and it costs something.

Moments arise that call for courage. You act, you risk, and parts of you are seen.

This experience explores power, visibility, and the deeper cost and responsibility of becoming.

Tent 6: Love, Revelation & The Return

You come into your full self.

What has been forming begins to take shape. You are seen, recognized, and able to stand more fully in who you are.

This closing experience explores integration, connection, and the return to life with greater clarity and presence.

LIVE TENT FLOW

The Emerald Tent begins at the threshold.

Participants are gently guided into an imaginal forest—a descent through breath, attention, and presence—allowing the body to settle and the mind to soften. This marks the transition from the outer world into the inner terrain of connection to something greater, more intelligent, ancient.

From there, the lived experience rises to include a deep integration the following:

  • The telling of the Hero’s journey, opening of the inner landscape

  • Small group witnessing (triads) for reflection and connection

  • Somatic practices, humming, and music to support integration in the body

  • An  After Glow with light bites and tea where participants socialize and deepen connection

asynchronous Deepening

As part of the Hero’s Journey experience, participants are invited into a simple, ongoing practice called The Moth & Ember—a Jungian-inspired journal process that supports reflection between gatherings.

Drawing from the spirit of The Red Book by Carl Jung, this practice moves beyond traditional journaling, offering prompts for reflection, somatic awareness, nature-based experiences, and the collection of dreams and imagery.

Participants are also welcomed into a private community space on Wix—an optional place to stay connected, share, and continue the journey together.

Whether you attend a single Tent or move through the full arc, the experience meets you where you are—and stays with you as your process continues.

a gentle note

Tending Anxiety circles are not therapy or medical treatment.

They are facilitated communal rituals grounded in embodied presence, deep listening, and nervous system awareness.

You are always free to participate at your own pace.
