Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using www.theemeraldtent.com (the "Site") or participating in any offerings provided through The Emerald Tent, including Moth & Ember, Emerald Tent gatherings, online communities, digital resources, workshops, recordings, or related services (collectively, the "Services").
 

By accessing this Site or participating in any Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Site or Services.

The Emerald Tent is operated by a California-based entity (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Contact information is available upon request for legal purposes.

By accessing the Site or participating in any Emerald Tent offering, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or Services.

Nature of the Services

The Emerald Tent provides community-based gatherings, memberships, educational resources, reflective practices, and online communities intended to support personal reflection, meaningful conversation, and shared human experience.

Our Services are educational and community-oriented.

They are not intended to provide:

Medical care

Mental health treatment

Psychotherapy

Counseling

Crisis intervention

Legal or financial advice

Participation is voluntary and intended for personal growth and community connection.

 

Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in Emerald Tent offerings unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Participation & Personal Responsibility

By participating, you acknowledge that:

  • You remain responsible for your own physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.

  • You determine your own level of participation.

  • You may decline or step away from any activity at any time.

  • You are responsible for seeking appropriate professional support when needed.

Participation is always voluntary.

Memberships

Moth & Ember is offered as a recurring monthly membership.

Membership may include:

  • Monthly Emerald Tent gatherings

  • The Ember Community

  • The Moth Threshold resources

  • Journal prompts

  • Covenant materials

  • Recorded Emerald Tent archives

  • Additional member resources as offered

 

Membership renews automatically until canceled.

You may cancel your membership at any time through your account. Access continues through the end of your current billing period.

We reserve the right to modify membership offerings as the community evolves.

Individual Event Registration

Some Emerald Tent gatherings may also be available as individual registrations separate from membership.

Event details, pricing, and availability will be listed on the event registration page.

Payments & Fees

Payments are securely processed through third-party providers such as Stripe or Wix Payments.

Unless otherwise stated:

Membership fees are billed monthly.

Membership fees are non-refundable.

Individual event registrations are non-refundable once your place has been reserved.

If unforeseen circumstances prevent attendance at an individual Emerald Tent gathering, participants may contact us to request a one-time courtesy transfer to a future gathering when appropriate.

 

Cancellations & Changes

We reserve the right to:

Reschedule gatherings

Change facilitators

Modify formats

Cancel events due to illness, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our control

If we cancel a paid event, participants will receive either:

A refund, or

Credit toward a future offering

Community Guidelines

The Emerald Tent and Moth & Ember exist to cultivate thoughtful, respectful, and psychologically supportive community.

Participants agree to:

Honor confidentiality

Speak from personal experience

Respect differing perspectives

Refrain from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or disruptive behavior

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate participation without refund when behavior compromises the wellbeing or integrity of the community.

 

Digital Content

Membership may include access to recordings, journal prompts, downloadable materials, written reflections, videos, and other digital resources.

These materials are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only.

You may not:

Share member-only content publicly

Reproduce or distribute materials

Sell or republish Emerald Tent content

Provide recordings or downloads to non-members

 

Intellectual Property

All original content, designs, written materials, graphics, recordings, and educational resources remain the intellectual property of The Emerald Tent unless otherwise noted.

No content may be reproduced without written permission.

Photography & Recordings

Occasionally events may be photographed or recorded.

When recordings are created for member access, reasonable care will be taken to protect participant privacy whenever possible.

Participants who do not wish to appear in recordings should notify us before the event.

 

Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party services including Zoom, Wix, Stripe, or other platforms.

We are not responsible for their content, policies, security, or availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participation in the Services is at your own risk.

The Emerald Tent shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from participation in any offering.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by law.

Assumption of Risk & Release

Participation may involve emotional reflection, discussion, meditation, movement, candlelight, or other activities associated with community gatherings.

By participating, you voluntarily assume all ordinary risks associated with these activities and release The Emerald Tent, its hosts, and facilitators from claims arising from participation except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

 

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Emerald Tent from claims arising from your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site or participation in Services constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

Access may not be transferred, shared, copied, or resold.

Purchases of digital products and memberships are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

Members receive a limited, non-transferable license to use these materials for their own personal reflection and learning.

If digital materials (recordings, reflections, written guides) are offered:

  • Materials may not be shared, reproduced, or resold

 

Refunds

All digital offerings are non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise.

You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use digital materials for personal reflection only.

FINAL NOTE 

The Emerald Tent and Moth & Ember are places of shared humanity—not expertise over others. We gather not to offer certainty, but to cultivate presence, curiosity, and meaningful connection.

Participation is always an invitation, never an obligation. We ask each member to help tend a community rooted in respect, compassion, and the understanding that every person's journey unfolds in its own time.
